There’s a new book and documentary film premiering Nov. 4 at 3:30 pm at the North County Recreation District’s Performing Arts Center in Nehalem. “Logging Oregon’s Coastal Forests” documents the first 60 years of the 20th century, when logging dominated the physical, economic and social landscape of the Oregon Coast.
Historian and author Mark Beach, and filmmaker Carl Vandervoort, bring this coastal legacy to life with stories, music and historic photographs that capture the culture of logging, the dangers loggers faced, and the pride they took in their work.
The entry is $10 at the door. Please come early since parking has been disrupted. We recommend that you share rides and drop your passengers at the door.
