It’s Polar Plunge time – New Years Day in North County and South County. The weather forecast for New Years Day calls for partly cloudy skies, calm winds and a high of 54 degrees. Here are the details:

MANZANITA POLAR PLUNGE
It’s that time of year again to shed your inhibitions, fears and some common sense!
When: New Year’s Day 2024
Location: Neahkahnie Beach (one mile north of downtown Manzanita, last area you can park, past 3 way stop sign. There is parking in the neighborhoods around the plunge.
Time: 11:00am is about the time we plunge but it is a good idea to get there early.
Who: All ages and species are welcome and encouraged! Hang on to your friends and family while you run into the water!
Why??? For NO reason, NO cause or NO explanation except: “if you never have you should, these things are fun and fun is good!”
Reward: A very large smile!
Caveat: Janice (the crazy person who thought this was a good idea many years ago), is NOT RESPONSIBLE for your safety during, before or after the Polar Plunge, but we do care about you!
Costumes are encouraged!
Tillamook YMCA in partnership with Oregon State Parks and Recreation and Netarts Oceanside Fire and Rescue bring you the Ninth Annual Polar Plunge. January 1, 2024 at 9:00 am at Cape Lookout State Park Covered Picnic Area, 1300 Whiskey Creek Road; Event and Parking are Free!
