It has been a whirlwind these last 6 weeks. For a quick update, join me on YouTube or Soundcloud for this months episode of From The District.
Events
I was able to attend some wonderful community events and even volunteer to help with a few!
May 16th I was honored to join in the celebration at the CEDR awards banquet held at Clatsop Community College. If you haven’t checked them out click on this link to see what Clatsop Economic Development Resources is doing in the community and how they might be able to help you or someone you know.
On May 18th I participated in the SAR Banquet in Tillamook. It was an honor to serve along side other volunteers helping to raise awareness and funds to support our local search and rescue men and women.

I was generously recognized by the student council at Pacific Christian Academy. What a great group of young students!

I along with Rep Javadi, Commissioner Olson, and Betsy Johnson met with agencies regarding cell service on Hwy 6. I am happy to report that with the recent approval of two leases for cell phone towers on county property off Hwy 6 we will see this project move forward.

I thoroughly enjoyed attending the Tillamook Chapter FFA Banquet and celebrating these students that truly are the leaders of tomorrow. The skills they practice in FFA will have lifelong impacts. Let’s find every way we can to support them in their endeavors.

I had the good fortune to welcome the Oregon State Grange Convention in Tillamook this week!
I appreciate their work and living up to their mission of strengthening our communities through service and advocacy. I was invited to listen in while they went over legislative concepts and their positions regarding policy issues. It was very interesting to hear their concerns and ideas.

The Joint Transportation Committee Road Show came to Tillamook this week. We worked very hard to share our coastal transportation concerns with the committee members. The day began with a ODOT hosted tour of Tillamook area transportation facilities and issue areas. Followed by a roundtable discussion that included community leaders from cities, counties, and businesses. The final event of the day was a public hearing followed by public comment that you can watch here: Transportation Joint 2023-2024 Interim – Oregon Legislative Information System
I was very pleased with the number of constituents that came out for the public hearing. However, if you missed this opportunity, you can still submit your testimony by Email or Mail.

Committees – Task Forces – Work Groups
Throughout the month I meet with many constituents in the community for a variety of concerns. This month was not different. My office worked on issues with the Employment Department as well as issues with the Oregon Promise and students who had been delayed in applying due to the FAFSA not processing in a timely manor. We will continue to do our best to aid those that have issues that are within my power to help.
In between events and constituent work I continue my work in these task forces and work groups.
