The Oregon Food Bank informed the North County Food Bank that the US Dept. of Agriculture has frozen payments for an important program funded through the Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC). This action cancelling $500 million of food support significantly impacts food distribution agencies throughout the country and here in Oregon. CCC food currently accounts for about 18 percent of the food made available in Oregon through Oregon Food Bank. “We expect this action to make it even harder to fight food insecurity here in North Tillamook County,” said the North County Food Bank on their Facebook page today, March 26, 2025.
You can contact your legislators to let them know you oppose this cut in funding. If you have extra money, please donate to your local food banks.
