Jackie “Jack” D. Eudy was born on November 16, 1933 in Hayden, Colorado to Joseph and Phoebe Eudy. He passed away on July 24, 2024 in Wheeler, Oregon.
When Jack was 13, he began working in a dairy, and homogenizing, pasteurizing, and delivering milk to support his widowed mother. By the time he was 14 he was working in a small local general store in Hayden, by the time he was 18 he was managing the store. Though he could have avoided service in the military due to his work and widowed mother, he accepted his draft notice and served in the US Army during the Korean conflict as a lineman.
Following his discharge from the Army he met, and married his first wife Barbara, having two children, Duane and Tracey. After she passed away, Jack and Rebecca Nielsen married, and her two children John, and Tina as well as dozens of foster children consider him a second father.
During his life time he owned a small motel in Rockaway Beach, and worked as a saw filer and head sawyer in lumber mills in Tillamook, Forest Grove, and Banks until his retirement.
He was very active, involved and loved, in the local Church of Christ, 2506 1st Street. Tillamook, Oregon and was known and loved as “Grandpa Jack” to generations of adults and children in Kennedy Mobile Home Park, where he made his home, raised his two grandchildren Damon, and Autumn Shoaf, and served as Elder Counselor, and chief bicycle and toy repairman for all the neighborhood children.
Jack was a talented artist, and his hobbies included drawing, painting and metal sculpting
Jack is preceded in death by his former wives, his parents, all his brothers and sisters, and his son Duane Eudy.
Jack is remembered with love by his daughter Tracey Eudy, his stepson John Vandervee, his grandchildren Damon, and Autumn Shoaf, his nieces Silver Kelley, Judy Turner, and nephew Michael Cavender extended family, church family and friends.
A memorial service at the Church of Christ, 2506 1st Street, Tillamook, Oregon is to be planned.
