Marcia Gayle Simmons age 71, passed away peacefully on January 20th 2024 at Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on November 10th 1952 in Tillamook, Oregon to Virgil and Delores Staben.
Marcia Gayle Simmons was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She touched the lives of many with her warmth, kindness, and unwavering compassion. Her infectious smile brought joy and comfort to all who knew her, and her memory will continue to inspire and uplift those whose lives she touched.
In addition to being a devoted spouse to Kenneth Jr. Simmons (Bing), Marcia Gayle Simmons was a dedicated mother to Erin Schwend, Tanya Lea and Troy Larson. She found great joy in nurturing and guiding her family, and her love and wisdom will forever be cherished.
Professionally Marcia Gayle Simmons made significant contributions as a park ranger and then became the office manager for Oregon State Parks for over 35 years. She was a bookkeeper for Sacred Heart Church for several years, and many years helping at H & R Block and serving on the election board here in Tillamook at the County Courthouse. Her passion and expertise enriched the lives of those she served, and her impact will be felt for years to come.
Marcia Gayle Simmons enjoyed making stamping up cards with her friends, she found comfort in giving gifts and helping others anyway she could.
She is also survived by her mother Delores Staben, her siblings Marc and Pat Staben, Ron and Diane Staben, Marianne and Jerry Sutherland. She will also be missed by her beloved son in-laws Carl Schwend, Tony Lea and daughter in-law Kim Larson, nieces and nephews Shawrron and Dale Searls, Charlene and Jeff Golightly, Shauna and Derek Staben and many great nieces and nephews.
Her many grandchildren that she loved and adored are Jessica Jordan, Emily Schwend, Spencer and Seth Wehinger. Her great grandchildren are Brody Schwend, Hadley and Laken Jordan, Neil, Olivia and Nash Kramer. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of Marcia Gayle Simmons life will be held on February, 18th @ 2pm at the Tillamook Church of the Nazarene in Wirick Hall.
Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her. May she rest in peace.
