Thank you for your patience!
First, a big thank you to everyone who helped keep our crews safe during the bridge work and 24/7 single lane closures. We used some innovative materials to speed up the process and let us finish the job faster.

Building Stages
We built the bridge in stages to keep the traffic impacts to a minimum during the summer.
First stage
The first stage, started in the spring, was building the bridge foundation and setting up the road to support single lane traffic.
Second stage
The second stage, started after Labor Day, required 24-hour single lane closures so we could build the bridge one half at a time.
To help speed the process along, we used some innovative materials, like ultra high performance concrete and epoxy polymer concrete. Regular concrete, like the kind used in your driveway at home, can take weeks to fully harden. But with the epoxy polymer concrete, the bridge surface was drivable after only 18 hours!
What’s next?
Our last step is to apply permanent striping in the spring next year when the weather is better.
