TILLAMOOK, OR—Today, October 4, 2023, Dr. Cyrus Javadi submitted paperwork to run for re-election for House District 32 (ranging from Neskowin to Astoria on the North Coast) in 2024.
“The North Coast needs an experienced voice in Salem to continue advocating for local jobs, lower taxes, protecting timber harvests, and expanding affordable housing,” said Javadi. “I’m committed to continue working with anyone to make substantive progress during this time of unprecedented political divide.”
Highlights of Rep. Javadi’s efforts in the Oregon Legislature include:
- Leading the fight to stop the Oregon Board of Forestry’s proposed 35% cut to timber harvests in state forestlands, which could devastate funding for local services including laying off a dozen police officers
- Expanding affordable housing through House Bill 2001—including funding to help thousands of Oregonians move off the streets
- Introducing and passing House Bill 3442, which expands local control for coastal communities to build housing
- Pushing for legislation to crackdown on fentanyl possession
- Sponsoring bills to fund School Resource Officers and notify parents of safety threats at schools
- Opposing efforts to increase taxes, including a $22 Billion new tax for Universal Health Care
“Oregonians want their leaders to buckle down and get things done to improve our schools, end widespread homelessness, and make life more affordable,” continued Javadi. “I believe the job is not yet done in Salem, and I’m looking forward to talking with voters about the work ahead of us.”
Dr. Javadi was first elected in November, 2022. He is a dentist and owner of SandCreek Dental in Tillamook. He holds a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of the Pacific.
Javadi has lived in Tillamook for 12 years, during which time he has served as the Dental Director for the Tillamook County Health Department and Port Commissioner for the Port of Tillamook.
