The Rockaway Beach Candidates Forums will go on … the Tillamook County Pioneer, despite attempts to discredit and provide mis/dis-information about the organization of these forums, the Pioneer’s editor Laura Swanson will moderate the official candidates forums on Oct. 11th for the Mayoral candidates and October 16th for the Councilor candidates. To provide access to Zoom, the forums will be held at the Rockaway Beach Resort, 615 N. Pacific. The Resort’s conference room is upstairs and they will be adding a lift to make the conference room accessible later this winter. In the meantime, the resort has made available an accessible, ground-level room – the “Zoom Room” for those that don’t have access to Zoom (or technology) and/or for those not able to do the stairs.
Or you can simply Zoom in to the Forum from your own home. Please request the Zoom links or RSVP for the Zoom Room (limited seats) to editor@tillamookcountypioneer.net.
Be sure to indicate which forum (or both) you are requesting the Zoom link for, and include your contact information.

If you are attending in person, PLEASE CARPOOL! Parking is limited.
The forum format will be similar to past forums. Questions will be submitted in advance, and if time allows, we will take additional questions from the audience. The candidates will be given two minutes to introduce themselves; questions will be drawn randomly and each candidate will be given 1 to 2 minutes to answer. We ask that audience members be polite and respectful, limiting any comments or conversations.
