The Rockaway Beach Fire Department took over the Phyllis Baker Park March 30, for their annual Easter Egg Hunt. Assisting in the event were RB Volunteers and members of the Rockaway Beach Business Association. The Fire Department roped off the park by age groups. Under the direction of the Easter Bunny, all the volunteers distributed the eggs.
Families started arriving, and quickly lined up at the starting line.
The Easter Bunny made the grand entrance via the Fire Department. Upon arrival the Easter Bunny walked along the line welcoming all the kids and stopping for photo ops. At precisely Noon, Chief Todd Hesse sounded the siren and the Hunt began! At 12:08pm there wasn’t an egg or piece of candy laying around!
Chief Hesse would like to thank the Easter Bunny and all the volunteers for their assistance in setting everything up. Chief Hesse said, “We love seeing the kids having fun! Their joy is contagious!”
