To the Editor:
We have another election coming up on May 16, and I would like to urge folks to retain Andrea Goss on the Tillamook Bay Community College (TBCC) Education Board.
Andrea and her husband, Larry, raised four kids to productive adulthood and have both made significant contributions to the life of Tillamook County during the twenty-two years they have lived here. Andrea’s volunteer commitments include service on the boards of CARE, Inc., AAUW, Citizens Review Board for Foster Children, Tides of Change, TBCC’s Foundation, and Master Gardeners of Tillamook County.
For the last seventeen years she has served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer, advocating for the interests of abused and/or neglected children. Also, Andrea worked for three years as a Victim’s Advocate in the Tillamook District Attorney’s office.
We are very lucky to be surrounded by many good people here, but Andrea shows a heartfelt commitment and special capacity to serve in these important human service and education roles. I hope you’ll vote for her on May 16. And then, sometime this summer at the Tillamook Farmer’s Market, you will be able to hear the music of her and Larry’s Marimba Band.
