Sheriff Horton announced the Tillamook Narcotics Team continued the investigation and a substantial amount of methamphetamine (42.9 grams),scales, and packaging materials and some cash ($1231.00) were located and additional charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and Delivery of Methamphetamine were added to Kyleah Hegre. Sheriff Horton is pleased these drugs have been removed from our streets. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be forthcoming.
Cape Meares, OR – On January 20, 2020 at approximately 9 PM, the Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office responded to 5530 Second St NW in Cape Meares, OR at the request of Vacasa Vacation Home Rentals for suspicious circumstances. Upon arrival, subjects fled out of the back of the home. Additionally, a stolen car was located in the driveway. Through the course of the investigation, several subjects were contacted, and another vehicle fled the location. Deputies pursued the fleeing vehicle through Tillamook and then eastbound on Hwy 6. During the pursuit the vehicle drove erratically, sped, drove into opposing lanes, and failed to yield to stop signs.
The vehicle yielded abruptly on Hwy 6 at Gales Creek and 4 subjects were taken into custody.
Devonte Tavon Gibson, 25, of Portland, OR, was arrested a lodged at the Tillamook County Jail for Eluding, Reckless Driving X 3, Reckless Endangering X 4, a Warrant out of Multnomah County for Eluding and Possession of Methamphetamine, and a Warrant out of Oregon City Municipal Court for a misdemeanor driving on a suspended license.
Kyleah Marie Hegre, 25, of Star, ID, was arrested and lodged at the Tillamook County Jail for Unauthorized Use Of a Motor Vehicle and a Warrant out of Benton County for Possession of Methamphetamine and Tampering with Evidence.
James Paul Ullman, 41, of Gresham, OR, was arrested and lodged on a Warrant out of Douglas County for Failure to Appear.
Melissa Pauline Castro, 37, of Portland, OR, was on misdemeanor probation for Theft II and was released on scene with instructions from Washington County Community Corrections to report on January 21, 2020 at the probation office.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges and arrests may be forthcoming. Nothing more will be released at this time. Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Tillamook 911, and Washington County Consolidated Communications Agency (WCCCA).
