For his senior project River Veek is organizing a downtown Tillamook cleanup on Friday September 1st from 9am-noon.
Gather at Second Street Plaza for treats courtesy of Pacific Restaurant and block assignments.
The goal of this project is to create an ongoing strategy to revitalize the downtown commercial district of Tillamook. Various community organizations have committed to assist in the annual revitalization of a segment of downtown. This cleanup will consist of various tasks and jobs such as trash/debris pickup, weeding, sweeping, etc. In the coming years, this project will hopefully become an annual continuation supported by the Tillamook Chamber of Commerce and various non-profits.
The cleanup will be taking place over nine city blocks ranging from Second through Fourth Streets, and Stillwell through Laurel Avenues.
Each volunteer group will be assigned one section or block to clean. Depending on the section, the expectations may differ, and may change before official cleanup date. Below, each block number will give a general idea of the needed tasks.
