We had some rain this morning associated with a weak front pushing northward which gave the area from around ¾ to a little over an inch of rain. We saw some scattered showers behind the front that became more widely scattered in the afternoon. This evening the shower activity increases again as another minor disturbance rotates across the area, thanks to the parent larger low pressure area that is meandering well west of the Oregon coast, but is providing the southwesterly flow into our area. So again, we see cloudy skies with scattered light showers tonight, the winds southerly 4-8, and the low only dropping to near 46.
Tomorrow morning, we see a large upper level trough of low pressure, that had been lingering off the coast, starting to get nearer the coast, and that, along with help from that previously mentioned low pressure area, pushes another front towards the area which brings back the rain that persist until the front pushes through around midnight, when we transition back to scattered showers. We still see the southerly winds 5-10, highs up near 58, overnight lows near 43.
Being under the influence of that low pressure trough still, we see scattered showers Saturday, the winds becoming southeasterly 10-15 gusting to 20, highs near 53. The scattered shower activity increases Saturday night through Sunday as the low pressure area drifts closer to the coast then turns south towards northern California by Sunday night. Lows Sunday night around 42.
As for next week, it looks like the low will be inland into southern California with a ridge of high pressure to our west, leaving us under a strong northwesterly flow associated with the upper level trough that will bring cloudy, rainy, and breezy conditions from Monday on through midweek with highs in the low 50s, and lows in the low 40s.
