The Tillamook Association of Performing Arts (TAPA) is proud to present Catch the Waves on Saturday July 13 and Sunday July 14. This royalty-free play by Patti Veconi is part of a fantastic collection of plays for kids and teens on Drama Notebook. Children aged 10-16 will be performing on the stage after attending a week of TAPA’s Starlite Academy Theater Camp under the direction of Ann Harper.
Synopsis: It is the distant future. The people on planet earth are suffering gravely from a total lack of humor. They are unable to chuckle, laugh, guffaw, or even understand a joke. The crew of the Neo-Ventura space ship are traveling in search of waves that will bring mirth back to the masses. Trouble ensues when they get too close to the planet Zapzastria and their equipment is damaged in the debris field surrounding it. Will they find the help they so desperately need to repair the electronics? Will the po-ta-tuber be able to fix the communi-zappiter-matrix or the billowgrab? Do you know who’s on first?
Find the answers to these and all the other questions at one of the 2:00 matinee performances on July 13 and 14. Tickets will be sold at the door only and are $5. All ages are encouraged to attend. The play is approximately 45 minutes long. The concession stand in the lobby will be open one-half hour before the show starts. Doors to the theater open at 1:30.
