The Tillamook Association for the Performing Arts (TAPA) would like to announce the auditions for the spring production of Four Old Broads, a comedy written by Leslie Kimball.
Auditions will be held on February 3rd and 4th at 1:30pm at the Barn Community Playhouse in Tillamook. The play is centered on a group of women living in an assisted living home in Petula Georgia in 1992. While trying to avoid the heavy hand of lead nurse Pat, they plan an elaborate escape on a Caribbean cruise. The characters include Beatrice Shelton, a former burlesque star with an attitude; Eaddy Mae Clayton, a former nurse and “religious” lady; Imogene Fletcher, the newest resident with a failing memory; Pat Jones, a rude and pushy nurse; Maude Jenkins, a funeral and soap-opera-obsessed frump; Sam Smith, a retired Elvis impersonator and Casanova; Ruby Sue Bennett, a quiet, romance-loving nurse. Beatrice, Eaddy Mae, Imogene, Maude and Sam range 60’s-70’s, while Pat and Ruby Sue range 30’s-50’s.
These are open auditions so first timers, as well as those with stage experience are welcome. Performance dates are April 14-April 30th. For more information contact the director, Chris Chiola, at (503) 812-7036 or email chiola1970@yahoo.com
