The Tillamook County Board of Commissioners is seeking applications from Tillamook County residents to fill two vacated positions on the Tillamook County Budget Committee. Because of the fiscal challenges facing the County, the Commissioners would like to appoint an individual who is willing to make a real commitment of time to the Budget Committee. Anyone, except officers, agents, or employees of the County is eligible to serve on the committee. The successful applicants would need to attend several workshops and at least one formal Budget Committee meeting each year. Under State law, the committee has the responsibility to develop budget policy and priorities and approve the County’s annual budget. The committee consists of the three County Commissioners and three members chosen from the community. A background in government finance, accounting or business is helpful, but the most important qualification is an interest in, or knowledge of, programs and services that are either offered by the County or required by law to be performed by the County. Membership application forms are available on the County website under the Board of Commissioners’ page at: https://www.co.tillamook.or.us/bocc/page/committees and should be e-mailed to Isabel Gilda in the Commissioners’ office at igilda@co.tillamook.or.us by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2023. For more information on how to submit an electronic application, call Isabel Gilda at 503-842-3431; for more information about the Tillamook County Budget Committee, please call Shawn Blanchard at 503-842-3439.
