Cold Temperatures Tuesday Night into Wednesday Morning
Skies will gradually clear from north to south today as high pressure builds overhead behind the departing weather system. This will allow
temperatures to drop into the 20s tonight in the interior valleys and below freezing along the coast. Tonight is expected to be the coldest of
the week, with overnight lows staying closer to freezing in the inland valleys for the remainder of the week.
KEY POINTS
– Greater than 90% chance for temperatures to drop below freezing in most coastal areas. Generally less than 20 percent chance to drop below 25 degrees, except around a 40% chance in sheltered areas inland from the coast.
– High surf along the coast through this afternoon.
– 30% chance of low temperatures 25 degrees or colder in Portland. Closer to 60% chance in outlying metro areas such as Hillsboro and Battle Ground.
– 60% chance of low temperatures 25 degrees or colder in the central Willamette Valley including Salem and McMinnville.
– 85% chance of low temperatures 25 degrees or colder in the south Willamette Valley including Eugene and Corvallis.
