The Tillamook County Fire Defense Board issued the following information August 12, 2023:
With the current high fire danger in Tillamook County and expected higher than normal temperatures, low relative humidity and wind event predicted for early this week, the Tillamook County Fire Defense Board is asking the public to use EXTRA CAUTION. While beach fires and backyard fire pits are still allowed, please take EXTRA CAUTION as the weather changes. Fires can grow quickly and become uncontrollable in a short amount of time. Beach campfires need to be kept away from the dunes and beach grass, at least 50 feet. Remember to extinguish all fires with water and make sure the fire is “dead out.”
