Ballots Have Dropped!
Election Day is May 16th.
The Tillamook County Pioneer and MooVoter present a series of ONLINE forums to help you get to know the candidates on YOUR ballot.
Sayde Moser-Walker will be the moderator for this series. You’ll recognize Sayde’s voice from the “Hometown News” on KTIL Radio.
The forums are divided geographically: North County, Mid County, and South County, to allow for ample coverage as candidates and measures apply to those voting blocks.
We want to provide information the voter requires, and the reality is that voters in South County don’t need any information about candidates or measures that are specific to Mid or North County, and vice versa. For that reason, and along with the number of candidates in each area and to allow adequate time to meet with the voters for that particular race, we determined that this format would provide the most benefit for the voters and the candidates. In addition, to help reduce barriers to attendance, we are having TWO forums for each area. To reach more voters when they have time and energy to engage in elections, we have scheduled the forums to give each section of the county a time on a weekday evening and a weekend day.
Positions that are countywide, such as TBCC and Transportation, have been invited to participate in all of the forums.
NORTH COUNTY (TBCC, Transportation, NCRD, NBHD, NBHD Bond, NKNSD#56) – Friday, May 5th – 6 to 8 pm & Saturday May 13th – 10am to noon
MID-COUNTY (TBCC, Transporation, TSD#9) – Saturday May 6th – 10 am to Noon & Friday May 12th – 6 to 8 pm
SOUTH COUNTY (TBCC, Transportation, NSD#101) – Sunday May 7th – 1 to 3 pm & Thursday, May 11th – 6 to 8 pm
To receive Zoom links, please indicate which Forum you would like to attend – RSVP to editor@tillamookcountypioneer.net or to moovoter@gmail.com; Zoom links for each event will be available on the MooVoter Facebook page.
Please join us and become an informed and empowered voter that will not only vote, but carry the message to others. Each one of you can make a big difference in the future of Tillamook County.
