(Redmond, OR March 24, 2024) – The Tillamook FFA Chapter is pleased to announce the election of Vivian Seaholm as the Oregon FFA State Treasurer, one of six state officers selected to lead the Oregon FFA Association’s 17,000 members statewide. Seahom’s election marks a significant milestone in her FFA journey, reflecting her exemplary leadership qualities and dedication to advancing agricultural education. Seaholm is the first female to be elected to state office from the Tillamook FFA and is just the 5th Tillamook FFA member elected to state office since the program’s inception in 1949. She follows fellow FFA member Ryan Mizee, who retired from his office at the state convention this year.
As the newly elected Oregon FFA Treasurer, Seaholm will undertake a pivotal role in representing the organization at various levels. One of her primary responsibilities will involve traveling to 120 schools in Oregon with FFA chapters, where she will inspire and engage students, educators, and community members in the pursuit of agricultural excellence. Additionally, she will work tirelessly to promote agricultural education at the local, state, national, and international levels, advocating for the importance of agricultural education in today’s society.
Seaholm’s FFA advisors expressed immense pride and confidence in her ability to lead. “It is an immense honor to see Vivian elected as the Oregon FFA Treasurer. Only 6 out of 17,000 members are selected through a rigorous, multi-day interview process to lead in this capacity. The selection process is even more in-depth than many hiring processes,” said Hayden Bush, one of the Tillamook FFA Advisors. “Her dedication, passion, and leadership have always been exemplary, and we do not doubt that she will serve the Oregon FFA with grace, honor, and distinction. Vivian’s commitment to promoting agricultural education is inspiring, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact she will make in this role,” Bush added.
Seaholm’s election as Oregon FFA Treasurer underscores her outstanding contributions to the FFA and her commitment to its core values of leadership, personal growth, and agricultural advocacy. She joins a distinguished group of state officers tasked with leading and representing the Oregon FFA and her leadership will undoubtedly leave a lasting legacy.
