Cazadora, or Caza for short, is a highly intelligent, super inquisitive, acrobatic, young cat who needs an enriched environment. She is a “huntress” and has a strong prey drive which, for indoor cats, translates into the need for lots of interactive playtime with her humans and wand toys. Caza truly needs to express her “raw” cat—hunt, catch, kill (the toy), eat, groom, and sleep. Then repeat. After many hours of observing and playing with Caz, UP volunteers could see she outgrew her original sweet name of Princesa and now, she has become Cazadora, which means huntress in Spanish.
Caza is nimble, almost ocelot-like, and can easily jump to high shelves where she observes her terrain. If you are into making “catios” or “cat perches” for your cats, she will amaze you with her agility and daring. Caza has Bengal-like characteristics and her gorgeous fur hints of Bengal cat markings. She plays well with other friendly cats who are not annoyed by her high energy and competitive edge. Caza is curious to explore new toys, empty boxes, and likes standing up on her hindlegs to see better. She is the kind of cat who has the intelligence and curiosity to learn new tricks. And at night, after a day of embracing her “raw” cat, Caza is happy to curl up with you on the sofa and sleep on your bed while dreaming of the hunt.
Cazadora needs a family with active people who want to engage her with play at different times during the day to keep her energy moving in a positive direction. It’s not that Caza can’t be a lovable lap cat, she can, but only once she’s completed her cycle of hunt, catch, kill, eat, groom, and rest. We could see Caza poking her head out of a cat backpack as a feline companion, ready for an adventure with the family.
This one-year-old beauty is spayed, vaccinated, and in excellent health. Cazadora has lots of personality, spunk, & will be a great addition to the right family.
