JOSEPH BOYD has served on the board since his appointment in 2022 and has children currently attending NVSD schools. His experience running a business, and current career as a corrections officer have given Joseph important skills that he contributes to the NVSD board. He is committed to public service. He has played an important role in the district’s positive direction and wants to help keep the momentum going. He has already proven to be an effective member of the NVSD board.
WALLY NELSON has shown a lifelong commitment to education and the Tillamook community. He taught biology and math for many years at the NV high school and in retirement has continued as a substitute principal. He believes the needs of students and staff should be respected. Wally brings humor and joy to all of his endeavors, a much welcome quality. His goal is to contribute to the continuing success of the district. He believes that students deserve a stimulating and rewarding school experience that prepares them to be productive and informed citizens.
Both candidates are committed to keeping the NSVD heading in a positive direction. The recently renovated and expanded K-8 school and the building projects at the high school are fantastic resources for students, families and the wider south county community. The new Career Technical Education building and programs will provide training in the trades for non-college bound students. The CTE programs will prepare students for meaningful, successful careers, as well as provide much needed skilled workers for our community. Both Wally and Joseph are committed to public education and the NVSD.
WALLY NELSON and JOSEPH BOYD have both been endorsed by the Tillamook Retired Educators and Teachers PAC. Please VOTE for Nelson and Boyd and be sure to turn in your ballet by 8 pm on May 16th.
