The Bay City Arts Center (BCAC) has partnered with Mana’s Kitchen to present a special live stream concert event featuring the gutsy-folk style singer-songwriter Amanda Stanaway and renowned guitarist Stan Cassell this weekend, Saturday, April 3rd, at 7pm. The 90 minute performance will focus on Ms. Stanaway’s original music, with a couple of surprise cover-songs arranged by the dynamic duo. The concert will be broadcast live on the Bay City Arts Center’s Youtube page, and over the Bay City airwaves on KAYN, 92.9FM.

Amanda Stanaway is a Bay City-based musician and an East-Coast concert-and-events-promoter with a resume that boasts multiple national performances, including a Midwest tour with Peter Yarrow of the legendary group known as Peter, Paul & Mary. Her music is written with emotional pith and melodic nuance, as demonstrated in her gorgeous 2013 ballad Christopher’s Waltz (https:// youtu.be/wwzd1iP7CEw). This Saturday night she will be joined by her most frequent collaborator, “The Amazing Stan Cassell.” Stanaway is a multi-faceted artist, and also the founder/owner of Mana’s Kitchen on Highway 101 in Bay City. Her presence and non-stop energy has elevated the music scene in Bay City, and her concerts at the BCAC have packed the house.

The April 3rd concert is the second in the BCAC’s 2021 Live Stream Concert Series, and the first such event to be produced by Arts Center volunteers. Rob Russell, BCAC President, notes that the simulcast concert represents new territory for the Arts Center and its fledgling radio station, KAYN.
“We are excited—and a little nervous—to be broadcasting live on YouTube and over the radio using only our own staff and equipment,” Russell said. “Thanks to our amazing in-house team, and to the critical assistance of Coast Community Radio in Astoria, we’re ready to fly on our own this weekend.”
There is no charge for viewing this live-streamed concert but donations are highly encouraged and can be made directly to her Venmo account link: @Amanda-Stanaway-1
